Let’s Get Cozy
My second favorite place to be in this apartment is definitely the master bedroom. Not only was I able to achieve the cozy vibe I was going for, but I was able to capture that luxe jungle spa feel as well. I wanted to share with you how having a vision can go a long way no matter how much money you have in your bank account.
The first thing you want to do is commit on a color scheme and theme. For me, I knew I wanted to go with neutral colors with pops of warmth which is why I have colors like brown, black, green, etc. displayed. The next element you want to consider is going to be the design + style. How do you want your space to look? Because the bedroom is a place where most people de-stress, I wanted to be sure that items in the bedroom encompassed a soothing. relaxing feel. One thing that I made sure to invest in was the bedframe. Bed frames in my opinion can really make or break the room, and the one I secured brings my entire theme together. It’s a great focal point and conversation starter as well on social media. Believe it or not, that’s the most expensive item currently in my room lol.
Following design + style, you want to then source your items and make sure you’re getting the best bang for your buck. Personally speaking, I was on such a tight budget (if you would even call it that) due to my financial situation at that time. Have you seen the trend on social media of someone purchasing a home or moving into a new apartment, and only having enough money to get the place? Well, that was me LOL. I laugh now but it was SUCH a humbling experience. In fact, the only piece of furniture I had at that time was my headboard and 2 night stands that I secured from Goodwill for $10 and later transformed.
When it comes to sourcing items, it’s best to create a moodboard so it’s easier for you to research and source those items. Don’t be afraid to check places like Walmart, Thrift stores, TJ maxx, Facebook Marketplace, and sale items at your favorite high end stores.
Let’s get into what makes a space cozy.
